Somewhere among the myriad worlds there is one which has lost its sun. Kite is following a trail of changes across worlds - changed laws, changed lives, changed histories - hoping to locate the sun and, somehow, return it before it is too late. But the very act of searching will change more than she could imagine...
This is Kite's first quest, but she knows the principles of world walking. Tread lightly through the worlds, be unremarkable, leave no striking memories behind. Don't do magic where the locals can see - that ought to be easy, given her limited capacity. But at her first stop, she befriends Saryth, a captive sorcerer in service to a petty noble, and the castle is on fire before the night is out. She hadn't expected keeping the rules to be so difficult.
Travelling together, Kite and Saryth follow the trail of the errant sun through his world and beyond, to ice worlds, desert worlds, and worlds of desolation. For Kite, these are known territories; for her companion, it is all very different. Everything is new to Saryth. Not everything is good...
This is an illustrated novelisation of the graphic novels, part one of two.
